St. John's Home Blog

Hello! I hope you are well!

Due to the COVID-19 situation, since late January 2020, St John’s Home for Elderly Persons had suspended all volunteer-led activities.

Our elderly residents have been cooperative and following the social distancing practice recommended. All of them are healthy and are kept busy with our internal small group recreations, watching TV programmes and reading the newspapers.

Though they miss the many recreational and chit-chat sessions that you and your team provided, our residents understand that this suspension is necessary.

Since 30 March, no visitors are allowed into the Home and our residents are served meals in their dormitories to avoid gatherings in the Dining Hall.

We do not know how long the current situation will last but we do look forward to the day when the suspension can be lifted and we will welcome you and your team to visit our Home again!

We would like to request that you uphold our residents and staff in your prayers that they will continue to be physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually well.

Take care, stay at home and do practise social distancing.

To continue supporting our Home in this difficult time, we appeal for your generous donation.  Thank you!
