15 October 2014 marks a new milestone for our Home as our Chairman, Mr Woon Wee Yim, (on behalf of the Home) receives the President’s Award for Philanthropy trophy from President Tony Tan at the President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards ceremony.
This category recognises best practices in the management of donors (including fundraising practices) in non-profit organisations.
We dedicate this award to our donors, volunteers, community partners and staff, who have contributed to the Home in one way or another.
For a small charity with limited resources, this Award is an encouragement for us to continue the legacy set out by the founding members of the Home in December 1958.
A Big "Thank You!" to the volunteers from Sennett Estate. For 3 consecutive award years, our garden wins Silver in the Organisation Category!
On 24 August 2014, the Home received its first award – The Community In Bloom Award (Silver Award in the Organisations category).
And we have to thank our regular volunteers from Sennett Estate Neighbourhood Committee for this. Because they were the ones who took the initiative to transform a small plot of greenery into a cosy garden.
