Our residents were treated to their first open-air concert by “Esplanade On The Go” music truck.
For three days, on 30 Nov, 1 Dec and 4 Dec, "Esplanade On The Go" by the The Esplanade Co Ltd, brought music and songs to our residents, right at our door-step!

In this pandemic, this initiative allow arts to continue to bring joy to our elderly residents. Working within the limitations of social distancing, live music via a music truck cum stage was brought in and the performance was held in our Home's car park.
St John's Home was their first of their several performances in various Homes around Singapore.
With 2 performances each day, each time with a limit of 10 in the audience, close to 60 of our residents enjoyed this innovative entertainment.
On 1 Dec, the band, Two Of Us (二人世界), brought familiar tunes to our Home. With their mellow guitar and sweet vocals, our residents sang along to covers of Carpenters, ABBA and Teresa Teng.
Auntie Jessie, one of our residents in the audience, enjoyed the open air concert very much and acknowledged that it brought a spark amidst the boredom of adhering to the social distancing measures.
With our Home limited in manpower and resources to conduct online activities between volunteers and our residents, this new style of bringing live performances directly to an audience is a much needed distraction away from the negativity of the pandemic.
