We got the Silver Banding for the Community In Bloom Awards 2018!

This would be the third time St John’s Home for Elderly Persons had been awarded Silver. Our garden also impressed the judges and was awarded Silver in 2014 and 2016. A big thank-you to all our volunteers from Sennett Estate Neighbourhood Committee and our residents who have lovingly tended to our garden.

A resident, aunty Thevi who loves strolling in the garden daily, says that she enjoys the fresh air, and the garden gives her space for private prayers. Her favourite place is the garden swing, where she can people-watch and greet people passing by outside the Home.

Organised by National Parks, the awards are presented at the Singapore Garden Festival. The biennial Community in Bloom (CIB) Awards recognise and reward gardening efforts of our local gardening groups. For more information on CIB initiative, visit www.nparks.gov.sg.
