Morning exercises are a great way to start the day for everybody. They can be a set of stretches and simple movements that help us warm up our bodies and prepare ourselves for the day ahead of us. Simple movements and stretches stimulates the body to produce endorphins which allow for a happy start to the day.

One of the benefits of early morning exercise is being able to make new friends and to get to know the people who live around us. By coordinating exercise timings together and arranging a fixed time to meet for exercise every day or week, it is easier to incorporate these activities into daily lives and form a routine. Furthermore, with exercises that focuses on flexibility and warming up the body, it makes such activities enjoyable and appropriate for all ages.

Other benefits of morning exercises include deeper sleep at night, increased alertness and better regulated appetite throughout the day.

There are many groups in Singapore that gather for daily morning exercise and they can be found in community centres and parks all around Singapore.

Currently, in line with the government’s COVID-19 Phase 2 policies, organised exercise classes conducted by instructors have been allowed to take place in both private and public including open spaces at SportSG sport centres and parks, and HDB common areas, in groups of five, up to a total class size of 50, subject to safe management measures. Hence, it is important to sign up for the classes beforehand as there is a limit to the class sizes.
